Got a call from my old game warden partner, also a turner, and got access to a neighbors woods before an upcoming timber sale. In two hours this morning we got 37 cherry burls. Not bad for two old guys in the snow, and I just had to brag a bit .

Now I expect Dietrich will soon become a "certified cherry burl disposal expert" willing to help us from becoming doomed to turning nirvana .

Several more trips next week should cause this pile of danger grow even higher .

Isn't it against the law to have more than 20 burls at any one time? I'll just have to take care of the extras for you. We don't want a fellow turner getting into trouble.

Ya know, if you guys keep outing me I'm never gonna get anyone to send me wood.

Major score, by the way. I have a distant relative who wants to cut some trees in the spring that are burly but I don't expect near that much and nothing bigger than my head. (which is pretty big, by the way, but only in the metaphorical sense)
