Martin Thompson-Oram Sorby RS 3000 Ornamental Tool

Thanks Doug,

I read an article about the machine that may have been the one. Is there anyone here on the forum that has ever used one?
They were somewhat of a novelty back in the mid 90's, and Sorby only sold them for a year or two, with slow movement they pulled the item.
There are a few ornamental turners on this site maybe they can point me in the right direction. Very little info out there and Sorby no longer archives any information on them.

You might try contacting Jeff Farris on his personal Facebook page. He was the US Sales Manager for Sorby. He may be able to give you a contact at Sorby. Jeff is a great guy, used to see him at all the Woodworking Shows demoing, and he did a demo for our club on the Sorby sharpening system several years ago. Also Woodcraft sold them for a short time. I was just ready to purchase one, and Sorby stopped production. Maybe they have some old info at corporate.
