If anyone is looking for a GREAT demo for their club.....Matt was outstanding!
He did a full day for the Northwestern Michigan Woodturners Club, and three days of 5 person group classes at my shop.
Everyone had a good time, and learned a lot.

Looks fun! Matt came to the OVWG and we took his class. Was a very professional teacher. He will be back for the OVWG symposium next month. He even offered to have me and my brother come to Arizona for a “residency of sorts” with him!

Motion seconded (thirded? ;-) ). I took Matt’s 5-day workshop at PTSW this past August and it was really great. He was great to work with and learn from, both as an instructor and a person. I’m very pleased to see that PTSW is having him back again in April ‘24 so that more turners get that experience.

An interesting personal aside, the lightbulb “turned on” and I’d recently switched entirely to freehand sharpening. So I was extra intrigued to discover that Matt uses some interesting grinds that I haven’t run across elsewhere. As a result, I especially enjoyed both his freehand sharpening demonstrations and discussions of his use of these tools. Eye-opening at just the right time.

We had Matt here for club demo and a day of hands on . He is amazing to watch and despite his concentration on what he is doing talked the turning all the way thru. A very effective teacher and skills unheard of at his age. His signature top with captive ring is amazing turned with a skew.

It was a great demo on Saturday....but the in person class was well beyond any and all of my expectations. Matt's teaching style hit home with me and I only left wanting to spend more time. Perhaps, if I'm lucky, I'll be able to attend a longer class with him.

Matt is almost local and has demoed at our club, Stateline Woodturners in Rogers Arkansas. I have also taken one of his classes. He frequently has classes at Eureka Springs School of The Arts. The next Matt Monaco class at ESSA and only two seats left. The facility is first class in all ways and bargain priced.

Come visit us in NW Arkansas, see the sights, and take a great class.

Matt visited our club (Bay Lake Woodturners, Green Bay) a few years ago ... did an excellent job in his demo, and had 2 days of hands-on classes. Really enjoyed both his demo and his teaching!
