The previous discussion concerned rotating the piece to prevent drips by hooking up a rotisserie motor to the lathe. Then it progressed to off the lathe methods and this is something that I had already done. The method I use involves a gear motor with an adaptor on the shaft to hold the piece to be finished on a 1/2" dowel or steel rod. The first photo shows a lamp being sprayed using a piece of lamp pipe that screws on to the male pipe embedded in the top of the lamp.
They next photos show a shop made 2 jaw expanding chuck with a 1/2" dowel to attache it to the gear motor.101_1259.JPG 101_1263.JPG 101_1268.JPG
