We have had a 2-year plan to move down the coast that's been running for 4 years :D well its finally coming to fruition but not without some issues and challenges. Its a down sizing operation to some extent, and I am moving the workshop aka 'studio' :) myself, albeit slowly. This move has been coming for quite some time, so all my shelving/racking has been design to be flat packed for ease of moving. Although the floor area is bigger, with everything in boxes on the floor etc its obvious I 'm going to have to erect the shelving fairly quickly as its filling up.

I don't envy you, Hughie. When I moved from my under-the-home garage to the 2-story timber frame barn that was built specifically for my turning studio, I had help from two woodturning clubs, and plenty of bodies to move equipment. The added incentive was a feast of barbecued meats, side dishes and snacks, (all prepared by me) and adult beverages once all the heavy equipment was in place. I will always be eternally grateful for the woodturning community for so many things, and this was just one, but a very important one in my journey.

My LOML and I agree, never again, we did all the moving ourselves both heavy and bulky, and with a distance of 1000 miles between the old and new place.

Like the thousand bowls here and later turning blanks as well, finished pieces were already here.

A thousand bowls.jpg

Even with taking better than half a year, it still was a nightmare at times, like with things over there that we need over here etc, but we got it done, and know that it is our last one for sure  :D

Leo, We have moved a few times this should be the last. LOML once asked about moving whats the best way? I suggested either you never move or you never stop moving all the time, ⁣ but the trouble is we do the in between.:D
