New Club - Champaign, IL

Looks like a go
First meeting had 23 in attendance
21 signed on, I think the other 2 will soon.
Got an entry from another by mail. He could not make to the meeting.
Elected officers and approved By-Laws, I sent them to the AAW yesterday
Hopefully we will get a charter soon.

Jerry

What Jerry leaves out of his email is that he is currently President of the Central Illinois Woodturners and I am pretty sure from the sound of this post that he just got himself elected President of the new club in Champaign.

We are going to miss Jerry when he finishes his term with us and starts spending his 'club time' closer to home.

Congrats Jerry and Thanks

Frank

I will still belong to Central Illinois Woodturners
But after December not at the capacity of an officer.

I will still go to some of the places that CIW demonstrate.
Sugar Grove Nature Center,s Autumn Festival has always been a good place for the club to demo. Last year we had 8 lathes going and 11 different turners.
Lot of young adults with children who are always exicited to see the lathes work and the curls fly.
We have gotten new members from demonstrating there.

I will still make all the meetings when they are at Bloomington, @ 60 miles away, however I may not make very many meetingswhen it is in Peoria 105 miles.

Jerry
