I’m old and can’t remember what type of wood this is. But the day I made it we were working with a number of walnut burls. I like a thinner walled bowl but this one would have flown apart if I had thinned it more. There was a small pea sized hole where the pith was. I took some of the saw dust from the bowl, mixed it with CA glue, stuffed it in the hole, sprayed accelerator then sanded it down. Came out good.
