Hi All.

After "lurking" for a while I have now signed up to this excellent forum!

I am new to woodturning; I have had a very small lathe for a few months and just last week took delivery of a more powerful and capacious beast - A Stratos FU230 LV - which was bought from the exellent Simon Hope Woodturning in the UK.

Whilst I am new to woodturning I am not new to woodwork and my "retirement gig" is to run a small woodwork school in the north of (old) England. www.northernschoolofwoodwork.co.uk - based in Farsely, Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK. I have run the school since I retired from my "day job" 5 years ago - I am 59 now. I live a few miles north of my workshop on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. I travelled a lot when I was working and spent a lot of time in the US in particular New York City and Lincoln, Nebraska - two rather different places I know..... I really loved my time in the US.

I am looking forward to learning from your collective experience and maybe sharing some thoughts if I ever have anything of value to put out!

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick. Welcome to the forum! Your retirement gig sounds like a dream job to me. I'm sure you'll have some valuable input to offer, and looking forward to seeing you more here. Happy turning!
