Night Light

We have a couple bought at the local lighting shop 1 or 2 watt LED that plug into the outlet with light sensor. I thought of making one but off the shelf are cheap.

My wife does fused glass and has made night lights in the past. They use a standard nite light and fasten the glass to a clip that normally holds a frosted glass part. Look up "fused glass night light ideas"
You could do cutouts or make a mushroom cover for the bulb.

How about alabaster? It makes beautiful light shades and can be turned. It's a very soft 'rock' and easy to turn, though a little brittle. One of our local master woodturners used to turn it and generally put a Blackwood rim on it to protect it. There's a business in Ft. Collins, CO that sells it and their web site used to have videos on the process (or maybe links to videos). Art supply houses also carry it for sculptors.
