My guess it weighs about 40 pounds (give or take)
The four bolt pattern allows you to attach to the tail stock end or the head stock end
I still use one on the tail stock end. It’s a good place to park your tail stock when not in use. These ways matched both my 2036 and 2436. When attached to the headstock you don’t gain any swing just the ability to turn outboard
