I'm looking at a used 2436 but the spindle height is about 2" lower than the lathe I'm currently turning on. Is there a way to raise the height without compromising the stability? Thanks.

Depends on how old it is.
I The newer ones have adjustable legs. Requires jacking up the lathe easy with a hydraulic table and reposition the bolts holding the legs in place.
The older ones had leg sets available in various heights.

The lathe levels with bolt on each leg turned into a piece of steel with a depression for the bolt.
It sits on 4 steel rectangles. I think you’d be fine with 2 2x4 with a square of plywood under each end to give you the 2”.
Glue the steel rectangles on top of the 2x4s hold them in place with screws set around them.
The plywood squares make the 2x4 sit solid plus makes the 2 in 2x4 a real 2”

The year of manufacture is 2006. Getting a new set of legs sounds expensive. Thanks for the info.
I boosted the height of my Problematic in a similar way to Hockenbery's suggestion. It had adjustable feet, but because I wanted it taller, the bolts were extended further than they could tolerate. I used stronger bolts and had a wood foot under each of them.
A hydraulic jack makes it quick and easy, but a guy could use just a lever of some kind (lumber or steel) to lift each end; just have to block it up solidly to safely work under.

Just about everything in my shop is jacked up as hockenbery suggests.
