outdoor log storage

From previous posts I understand that log ends must be sealed amd the logs
supported off the ground; somehow covered to keep out the rain and still
provide air circulation. How do I do all of this with out spending $1000?
I'm not looking for plans, just some thoughts on how to all of the above.

Scrounge (sp)!!! Two sturdy pallets for a floor, two more each for back and ends. Couple of cross braces and a tarp. It will evolve, keep your eyes open for some metal roofing panels,etc., etc. Keep it neat so the Board of Directors doen't get upset. :D
