Hi all, thank you for adding me to this forum. My name is Patty Jennings and I have been turning for 10 years. I live in New Jersey and I am a member of 2 clubs here. The NJ Woodturners and the Water Gap Woodturners and I have learned a lot from the other club members. I have also been a member of the AAW since the beginning, I find it to be a great resource for information. I have turned a lot of bowls, vessels and lidded boxes. I like to challenge myself so I try everything I see at least once to see if I might like making it. I once did a basket illusion, an offset bowl, a segmented bowl and several winged bowls. During the holidays I make snowmen, Christmas trees and Christmas ornaments. I've been doing some carving on my bowls which I like a lot. I have a background in art so I can use that to add an extra touch to the plain bowls. I also just started piercing so I've been researching an air powered tool for that. I have a Micromotor which is great for carving but I've learned it's not fast enough for piercing. My shop is in a 2 car detached garage which is still a work in progress. I updated the electric several years ago, and I added a heater in February so the next thing is to add insulation so that it will be warmer in the winter. I just retired last year so I've been turning almost every day since. I have attached pictures of some of my most recent pieces.
