i have been trying to post photos and cannot figure out how to shrink my photos to the proper size for upload i have adobe photo software can anyone help me?

If you are using Adobe Photo Shop, open the picture that you want to shrink.
On the menu bar, select Image then Image Size.
You can then use either the pixel size or print size to adjust the image.

You can set the resolution to 80 and the image size to 750x500. Should work well.

But if you don't want to make the image any smaller dimension-wise, choose "Save As" under the Edit menu and you'll see the adjustment for Quality (I think that's what it's called in Photoshop, I'm using Gimp these days--or Compression possibly).
You should be able to get an 800 x 600 pixel image down to 50 kilobytes or even less this way.
You likely won't see that option if you just do a "Save". With "Save As", you have the options to either write over the original, rename it, or save in a different location.

If you're using PhotoShop, yes, you want to click on the Image button on the menu, select Image Size.
You can use either 72 or 96 dpi, and you want your size to be approximately 4x6 or less. SET BOTH!!! You have to, or it won't work right. If you have a 72 dpi picture that's 22" wide, it just won't work! That's what happens when PhotoShop works on a 300 dpi JPG. It autoconverts the sucker to 72 and makes it REEEEEEEEALLY wide. Been there done that!
Save it as a JPG file and you should be good to upload and go!
I'm betting that your other Adobe software has some similar resizing function. The labels might be different, and you might not have all the necessary bells and whistles, but I can't imagine that you can't manage it. If nothing else, keep paring the pic down until it saves under 1000 bytes. Then it'll upload and be visible in one horizontal screen, no matter what. At least for most folks.

If you currently don't have something, check out Irfanview. It's freeware and can resize photo's
