I’ve recently upgraded to a Robust AB and only have room for one lathe. The PM was purchased new in 2007 and has only turned segmented pieces. I would consider it a low mileage lathe, it works well. It has the bed extension as well as the tool rest extension for when the extension is in the low position. 220 v motor, 2hp. I will throw in the shop made steady rest. $2800 cash or money order firm; for pick up or buyer arranges palleting and freight.

Hi Russ, I have this exact lathe, and am trying to figure out what the sheetmetal box/hamper is and what it's for?
Chris, I had a 2 part shroud created to contain debris. It once had an upper section too. My lathe used to back up to a wall, I would turn with my back to the entry door. It saved the rooster tail of spin off that collected on the wall. I quickly found that collecting stuff in the dust collector just meant more work emptying the dust collector. It evolved into what Lou said; soon to be discarded. I added a picture, you can see how it was set up in the background. The best laid plans, lol!!

Thanks. I had suspected that it was for shavings but was having a hard time seeing how it would be effective as shown. Now with the attachment in place it’s quite obvious and a neat approach. But you are quite correct, what goes in the collector has to come out of the collector. Mine is pretty much used for sanding dust for that very reason. Broom, shovel and trash can works best for me.

On a side note, how well does the angled over blade collector work for you? Assume it’s done for clearance of a wedgie sled.

Chris,
That angled blade collector collected about 2.5% of the dust that came off that Unisaw. Another failed attempt at minimizing dust. The problem with novel ideas is you have to complete them to determine that they are ineffective. The real lesson learned here is that if you create things that are really not in your way, they can hang there uselessly forever, haha!!

Charlie,
‘There are two large bottles of tightbond original that fill other varying sizes of bottles. For my small segments, Babybots are what I use. It’s pretty amazing how little glue is wasted gluing up these small segments.

I have someone nibbling at my line. They are coming by. I have this uneasy feeling about having a stranger in my shop; not sure why other than the occasional horror story you here about things like this. Geeez, I haven’t smoked weed in close to forty years but that apprehensive feeling has returned, lol!! It’s an interesting feeling conflict between my constant desire to share and this weird paranoia!! I’m looking forward to being done with this sale!

crazy things happen when showing lathe, I had a couple earth magnets attached to the lathe at different points, the buyer wanted to know what I had removed , I showed him and all was good

I guess I should have taken the magnets off but I have several from a one time buy, I had not anticipated any reaction. It's crazy, almost like opening the door Halloween used to be. I considered that I had a great price on lathe and I consider that you have a great price on your lathe.
