The braking resistor is reusable, if I remember correctly. There have been some comments on similar threads that it might not be necessary with this particular application, but I'm not brave enough to leave it out.
There enough failures just on this forum, that I wouldn't bother with another Delta VFD. The replacement I ordered on Amazon has worked great for quite a few years and was not hard to set up. Black Friday deal on Amazon: $107
Hi Daryl. I just installed the Lapond Model: K100-2R2G1 on my 3520B. I wired it using the procedure given by AAW member John Coppola in 2019. John's procedure is for a Lapond SVD-P-3HP so his programming codes are different.
My question is, how do I know which funtions need changed and what should they be? There are probably 75 or so functions in the K100 manual, how do I know which ones to change?
I have used this one for a couple of different machines. It's easy to program, works great, and for under $100, I can have a spare one one ready in case one tanks.

I don't rememeber the whole process off the top of my head, but it wasn't that hard to figure out. The control inputs need to be configured, (so you don't have to try to run your lathe with the keypad) then typically you can adjust the max and min RPM, ramp up/down times, etc.
Here's the summary of parameters for a 3520 vfd. You have to use the manual to know which parameter number corresponds to each item. It's not a long list.
