I can tell you that I didn’t wait more than 24, and possibly less than 24 hours when I took some cast blanks measuring about 1.5” x 9” to the bandsaw and it gummed up the blade and the bearings.

Thanks, I will wait as the instructions direct. If you hadn't said what you did I am pretty sure I would have learned the hard way.
