Pete Richardson - Viable lumber in St Pete has a lot of exotics from trees grown in Florida. Rose woods, mahogany, camphor, NIP, red gum eucalyptus, lemon eucalyptus, monkey pod, and many others....... Pete has become one of the largest suppliers of rosewood in the US. He is an urban forester and his inventory was headed for the dump. By far the most ecological source of exotic turning wood. He can provide huge blanks 4-5 feet in diameter for some species.

The store formerly known as Albuquerque Exotic Woods, now renamed "My World of Wood" carries both domestic and tropical woods in good sizes. I've never bought online from them (they're local to me). They're trying to set up an internet store front. If you have difficulties, they're pretty good on the phone.

They will cut boards to size; I saw a 2" thick slab of orange osage, and had them cut me a 2-ft piece, rather than buying the whole board.

They will be exhibiting at the Atlanta symposium.

Hope that gives you another option.
