I just received the Jamieson system, and I'm super happy. I'd like to find adapters which will allow me to use the John Jordan tools I have, with it. It appears that Lyle only sells an adapter down to 1/2", while I have smaller tools. Will the Bosch adapters work? How finicky are they - to get down to 1/4 or 5/16, they need to nest. Are their other adapters available which can go from 3/4 down to 5/16 in a single step? I've just spent an hour or so digging into this, and can find evidence that others use the smaller tools with the Jamieson system, but I can't figure out what insert/adapters are being used.

My reasoning - I make a good number of smaller hollow forms, on the order of 3 -4" in size, and enjoy hollowing through a 1/2" with the 3/8" tools - I'd like to do these with the system, and take advantage of the laser for the wall thickness.

Hi Kirk,
You are in for a bunch of fun with the new system. I use the 1/2 bar with most small opening vessels. The hole in my boring bar is 3/8 and use other manufacturers 3/8 cutter assemblies in my bar. I dont use smaller boring bars because they can not reach out over the tool rest for the 3 or 4 inches you want without VIBRATION. I dont turn with vibration. Not fun, not safe, not easy. I believe the asthetics of a mouth opening a quarter inch larger will not affect the design desired.
