Has anyone had experience with a fob switch for a dust collection system? I just ordered one off of Amazon, it arrived and was for DC voltage, not AC voltage. If I were to hook that into my dust collection circuit, (240V AC) how bad would it be? Yes, I ordered the AC version.

I got this one on Amazon for my dust collector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0931YPB8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It does the job nicely , (I have a little Wen 600 CFM portable DC that I set up in back of shop connected to my home made cyclone separator) I picked it because it has two remotes, so I have one remote hanging right next to table saw, and the other at other end of shop by the Lathe, so I can switch on DC in 2 steps or less from almost anywhere I'm working.

Not inexpensive, but i've been very happy with two Long Ranger switches--one in the basement shop and one in the outside shop. Work from a good distance away (25-30 feet), omnidirectional enough to not require aiming the remote. They make a 120v and 240v version. In both cases for me, the remote is with my safety glasses at the end of the day--so easy to find as long as you develop the habit. Probably the only good habit i have!!

Couldn't say without seeing the specs on the unit you recieved.

Switching to the Lone Ranger remotes was one of the best things I did for my shop. Think they came with my Oneida system. Only problem I had was with one in the turning room that apparently went out with the shavings...... Now, it goes on a clip on the wall, and not in my pocket. The one in the flat work area floats from machine to machine. You don't have to aim, just press the button.
