Removing CA Glue from Acrylic Rod

I am crafting some pieces with stands suspended by acrylic rods. I got a bit of ca glue on a rod, and am wondering how to best remove it without scratching or damaging the rod in any way. Any suggestions?

I bought some CA debonder... after I needed it. It does work, but I would test it out on a scrap piece first to make sure it doesn't craze or cloud the acrylic.
Ps. Doesn't have anything to do with your situation, but a rule of thumb for CA glue is, don't glue yourself to anything you can't lift.

Clifton, Thanks. I will try the debonder ... but I will have to have my wife get it because I glued myself to my lathe ha, ha.

Debonder or acetone but test on a scrap.piece because either one could eat up the rod. You could also use the edge of a razor blade to scrape it flush, then sand and polish the rod. I use automotive polishes to polish acrylic pieces.

Is replacing the rod an option? You might be better off.

I think anything like acetone that will dissolve cured CA will dissolve the acrylic, but if you can try removing some CA from a scrap piece maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong.

I have also heard that CA will give up when heated, but I don't know if that temperature is higher than your acrylic's melting point.

You may be able to debulk the glob with a wooden scraper. I've had some luck with that when other CA to plastic bonds have failed. Apparently CA does not bond well to all types of plastic.
