Replacement remote for JDS Cyclone dust collector power box

I have a JDS cyclone power box for my 3hp dust collector. Its only a year old, bought brand new (old stock). The remote had an 'accident' and now I'm in need of a new one. It looks exactly like the one from Jet, the only difference is the JDS and Jet sticker (both on the control box and the remote). Does anyone know if Jet's will work? Or does anyone have a JDS remote they're no longer using. Pictures below are of Jet's product. Wondering if I need to worry about frequency or other compatibility issues.

Borrow someone's Jet remote and try it on your JDS.

I called Jet, the tech I spoke with said he didn't know if it would work despite the two units looking exactly the same except for the label. His suggestion was to buy a brand new cyclone dust collector. Not going to do that.

Good idea. I asked around at the last club meeting online but no one seems to have a Jet dust collector that uses this remote.

It's called a remote relay switch. Unfortunately, many of them are coded (perhaps not as severely as car key remotes...) There will typically be some switches in the relay (which you still have) and switches in the remote (that got accidentally "lost."). Those switches and the frequency should match.

I wonder if either Jet or JDS would sell you the remote and allow you to return if it doesn't work.

Another alternative: An electrician can install a new remote relay switch for you. The remote relay switches themselves are inexpensive; the relay motor starter is the more expensive component (and the electrician's labor will be the most expensive...).

If you find you need to replace the remote....I suggest going to the iVac system. You can expand it as needed with automatic blast gate that also turnoff your dust collector when you switch power on to your saw or lathe
