reuse ring or bangle core?

I have been told that pen turners will reuse the brass tube on occasion (I'm not a pen turner). I was wondering if I used a stainless steel core in a ring or bangle and did not like the way the wood turned out if I could just remount the ring and turn the wood off and reuse the core?

Sure, why not? Depending on the glue used solvent or heat might be a good way to get the wood off as well.
