The photo posting rules for the gallery has been updated to 4 images per 24 hour period. All other rules for posting images in the gallery (such as the limit of two views per turning) remain unchanged. Note that this change only applies to the photo gallery.

The four photos for the gallery must be in separate pages like before or could be in the same page for an easier vision and commenting? Leave comments for the same turning split in four or even two pages like before is awkward.

Sergio, you may now post four images (four JPG files) per day. An image must fit within the guidelines given in the Rules and FAQ. Note: only the number of allowed images per 24 hour period has changed and the rules still say no more than two images that show different views of the same turning. If you wish to create an image that is a photo collage of several different views of the same turning then that is OK -- the rule regarding creating a collage is still the same. It has been stated before, but I will mention that the photo gallery is only to show completed turnings -- no works in progress, pets, friends, lathes, piles of shavings, tools, etc.

Just in case anybody is wondering why we say "24 hour period" rather than "day", the reason is that turners from all over the world participate in this forum. Midnight here is noon in some other places.

I will add that this is not a rule, but it would be nice to have photos that present your turnings as nicely as you can. If your Hasselblad is an iPhone, that is fine. It is not necessary to have the photo look professionally done, but it would be nice to have a background that is not as cluttered as my desk -- don't ask, but I think that there is a desk somewhere under my pile of paper and junk.

I sympathize with your perspective on numerous views of the same turning. Like I said, we currently still allow two separate images of the same turning. If somebody wants to create a collage with numerous views of a turning then that is OK. Personally, I don't really care for collages. I was forced to create a bunch of collage images on a calendar project once and I hated it. Some fine images were trashed by creating those collages.
