A friend of mine locked his 2y/o Laguna 15/24 to chisel on the mounted wood. Forgot to disengage the lock and hit the start button. Motor hummed, he turned it off released the lock and now it will not start. There was no smoke or noise. Now only a soft click upon hitting the start switch. Will not run when manually spun to bypass the starting capacitor. Could not find any reset button. Any suggestions as to what happened and what to do next?

Sometimes this works to reset the VFD
Unplug the machine
Wait four minutes or more. It takes a while for the VFD to shut down.
Plug it back in and test.

Thanks Bernie for posting this for me. I now have access to the forum. I did try to unplug the lathe (for hours) several different times. Still no start. I just contacted Laguna for help...still waiting for a response.
With lack of response from Laguna, I removed the control box cover to take a look. I did find a 20 amp ceramic fuse on the bottom right corner of the control board. After removing, I checked it with my DVOM. It was open. I didn't have the correct one on hand. It's small, 5mm x 20mm. So I then made up a "test pigtail" with an inline 15amp fuse (to be safe) and connected it to the boards' fuse terminals with some alligator clips. Now the lathe works as it should.
You can get the fuses almost anywhere and I'll get a few to have as spares for the next time this happens.
The biggest frustration of this whole ordeal, other than the lack of support from Laguna, is that the word "fuse" is not shown anywhere in the manual. Not even listed as a replacement part! Incredible waste of my time for a $2 part.
I really do like the lathe but I'm not impressed with Laguna support nor their Owner's Manual.

Hmm. I used to own a Revo 1524. I thought there was info on the fuse... I found this page, but, its gone:

The only instance of "fuse" in the manual was as part of the word "refuse".
EDIT:
Looking through the parts list, it appears they only list the "control board" as a single unit. I think the fuse is on that. I don't know if the control board has its own manual or data sheet...might be worth looking for that?

Thanks Jon. I have looked for further info on the control assembly and have not found anything. There is no fuse listed in the owners manual but one is listed on their website as a replacement part. More likely, they want you to buy an easy-to-find control board for $200 versus a hard-to-find $2 fuse. It's all good! Thanks again.
