There are a lot of YouTube channels for woodturning instruction of varying, and sometimes dubious quality. Happily, I see that Richard Findley (a member who has long been on Instagram) has recently started a YouTube channel.

Not only does Findley have lots of street cred as a well-established UK professional turner and demonstrator, it is evident from his videos that he is also a natural teacher. He has a pleasant, non-hyped manner of speaking that makes his instruction very easy to listen to. His YouTube videos so far are detailed and well-produced.

Findley's first few videos have been at a relatively introductory level—the last two on the skew—but they are so good that I think they could be a worthwhile refresher for anyone. It is a real treat to see videos of this quality on YouTube.

Thanks for the mention. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos so far. It’s early days yet but I have big plans for the channel starting with skews and spindle turning with lots more to come with bowls, boxes, challenges all sorts so I hope you can subscribe and follow along. New videos every Tuesday.

Richard
