Robust Universal Stand

I am looking for intel on the Robust Univeral stand. I turn sitting in my wheelchair. I currently use the Laguna 1216 with the long extensions on both ends of my lathe. My question is… On the Robust Universal Stand how would that work out for offboard turning if the lathe was “tilted”. How would the tool rest line up on the left side of the headstock? On my Laguna 1216 I slide my chair right under the way extension and set the lathe in reverse and it works out well. If I bolted my Laguna lathe onto the Robust stand where does the tool rest end up? No I have not called Robust yet. I just thought toss the question down on the forum. Any of you folks that turn seated able to help me out? A Picture would be wonderful as well. Thank You!

It’s been a long time since I worked with a turner who used a tilted lathe. The tool rest is level to the floor for spindle work on a tilted bed.
For face grain work the tool rests goes toward the same angle as the tilt to the floor. This can be quite awkward and many seated turners don’t tilt the bed for face grain work.

I wanted to add…. A gimbal type mount for the tool rest would be really sweet. That way I could null out the “tilt” and bring the tool rest level to the world. That was an idea I had. My father worked for NASA for 38 years. Thats the type thing my dad and his pals were building. A tool rest on a round ball clamp assembly. Lathe and timber tilted. Tool rest level to the floor. I need a mechanical engineer. Anybody know one?
