Are there any superior brands of grinders? My wife wants me to make a set and it is not something I am terribly interested in but for her I will do it. I just don't want to more than once if I can avoid it.
Chef Specialties is supposed to be better than the run of the mill .... OK, bad pun.
I also have one one the ceramic crush/grind kits which can be used for either peppermills or saltmills and I think that I will like it better than the standard mechanism, but I haven't used it yet.
Thanks a lot Bill, new to me website, spend money and get fat...after I looked at the grinders I clicked on the recipes tab. Asiago garlic puffs...That will happen tonight. Although there is a misprint in the recipe, It calls for "1 clove of garlic" Ha, who ever heard of such a thing...
Go with CrushGrind@ mechanism and never look back. - John
PS - Don'e even consider making a salt shaker, pepper mill, etc. until you get (and read) a copy of Turning Salt & Pepper Shakers And Mills by Chris West. There's a section in the book dedicated to the CrushGrind@ mechanism. Everything you need to know. - J
PSS - Don't ever think about cutting the lugs off of the CrushGrind@ mechanism and using some sort of adhesive to install the mechanism in the mill body. Install the CrushGrind@ mechanism as designed - snap fit with no adhesive required/needed. - J
