Hi all!

I am Scott from Loveland, Co. I got my first lathe (Jet 1221) for Christmas 8 months ago. Loved every second turning on it, was able to find a screaming deal on a Jet 1640 so made the upgrade a few weeks ago. I am still a beginner, but getting better by the day. (Now if I can just stop getting catches when scraping with my swept-back bowl gouge!)

I live 1/4 mile from the county recycle center (where everyone drops off their wood) so I have a close and nearly endless supply of turning stock, which is great. Here are a couple of pics of things I have turned. I look forward to learning from the community here!

Apple bowl
Aspen "yarn bowl"
Honey locust chips 'n' dip

Hi Scott. Welcome to the forum! I really like that apple bowl a lot.

By the way, that Jet 1640 is a great lathe and will serve you well for a long time. I had one and sold it because at the time it didn't seem like I'd be able to turn anymore. Anyway, enjoy your turning and welcome aboard :)
