I appreciate the opportunity to participate and learn with this group. I live in central florida and am quite new to turning. I use a 1920's Craftsman spindle lathe, with a few upgrades, and find turning to provide immediate feedback and to be a "zen" experience when my tool edge becomes one with my piece.

Welcome aboard. You will find this a great place to ask questions but be prepared for varied opinions. You also might want to look for a local club. Pretty sure some of the Florida guys will be along to give you better direction to a club. Don't know how I did this twice. @hockenbery
