Sealing wax removal

Any ideas on removing sealing wax on a piece of wood?
Thank you
I sometimes need to remove the wax from the ends of a piece to glue on a sacrificial block for some of my multi-axis turning. When I do this I have found that a sturdy putty knife will remove the majority of the way. Following up with a little sandpaper exposes the grain so I can glue on the blocks.
If you are concerned about removing the wax on the turned surfaces, I agree with the other comments - just remove it on the lathe with your tool of choice.
