I have been turning segmented bowls for a couple years and am interested in learning more. Do you have any recommendations on any workshops or seminars I could attend? Thanks for you help.

A few years ago a bunch of segmented turners formed an AAW chapter. They mostly meet electronically but they have held a couple of mini-symposium devoted to segmented turning. the have one planned for October. you might consider joining.

I've been a member of Segmented Woodturners for over 4 years and I think it's a great site. Many friendly and knowledgeable people to learn from.

Malcolm Tibbetts is teaching a segmenting workshop at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg, TN (6/29 - 7/12) and another at Marc Adams School in Franklin, IN (9/8 - 9/12) this year. Also, Curt Theobald is teaching another segmenting workshop at Arrowmont (10/5 -10/11). Malcolm and Curt are arguably the best and most innovative segmenters alive. Not only are they good at their trade but also they are excellent instructors.

I would strongly urge you to buy Malcolm Tibbets book on segmented turning. I bought a bunch of books on segmented or polychromatic turning and his is the best. I also have a friend who took one of his classes and he can't stop talking about how much he learned.
