Wasn't in the mood to turn yesterday but set up the grinder and the Wolverine setup. Went through all my tools and sharpened them. Today I did some turning for practice. Makes a big difference! I turned some small tree limbs and some square pieces with the roughing gouge. I decided to try the skew. I started as I have seen videos on this...very carefully to avoid a catch. I turned four pieces and saw fine dust coming off. I checked the surface with the calibrated finger tips before and after the skew. Makes a big difference, too. Wood was cherry and an unknown that resulted in a very smooth finish.
Next is to check the grind on my bowl gouge. It is a Benjamin's Best and had a short wing on a parabola flute. Extended the wing and looking to try it out tomorrow. I am only turning about 90 minutes when the knee starts to protest. Tried turning on a stool but didn't care for it.
Remember- One good turn deserves another!

I'm not quite as bad as you, but I pay for extended periods of turning. I bought one of those hairdresser stool's like Kim Tippin's. It definitely took some getting used to. I've managed sitting for some bowl outside work and almost all the time when I'm sanding.

Mike, that's it!
As for posting a YT video, don't hold your breath. Maybe for fishing or something else that is real important.

I had to look it up, the song Turn, Turn, Turn was written by Pete Seeger. I did know it came from the Bible...
