Silver maple burls

Well nothing so far I got distracted by the other pieces that I was making something out of ! And I am dealing with amd of my left eye, so I have not been turning as much lately.
Hoping to get back soon after I finish this challenge up . I am work of some wall hanging for this months challenge.
I deal with AMD also—90 shots in my left eye so far . . .

You might look for low-vision resources in your area. My wife found a Low Vision Club that meets at a local senior's center once a month. It's wonderful - people share experiences and resources. They describe resources freely available - so far the state has sent three people to our house with equipment and aids and help - set up computers, phones, tvs, brought magnifiers etc, special cutting boards, trays for sorting medicines. A lot of the attendees have macular degeneration. Told us about the Be My Eyes app.

I've helped with some programs and we are planning to bring a woodturing/woodworker, blind since youth, to the club for a demonstration. I would love to learn how he teaches woodturning to those without vision.

We let the eye doctors and physicians in the area know about this club (none had heard of it) so now they are telling patients about it.

Thankfully I don’t need a support group or those resources. With only one eye affected, it’s only some depth of field that’s a bit off—and I miss some scratch marks till I magnify. Many have it much worse.

This looks like a planter right now but it’s no the final shape there are some cracks I was trying to get past and also trying out a new grind we learned from mat monco this winter at our club meeting !IMG_3256.jpeg
