I didn't recall where to post so just put it in what I hope is the right place.

Simple music box for Diane for her birthday this coming month. It's a pretty basic form with a music movement, stop knob and glass top. Dimensions: heart is 3", the box about 5 1/2" by just under 3" tall. Monkey puzzle wood that has been sitting in my shop since about 2015.

Nice! I love music boxes - bought a bunch of movements from San Francisco Music Box Co decades ago (I think they've quit selling the movements now) . A great way to work on turned box-making skills! I've made a variety.

But never saw one with a heart rotating on the top. How does that work?

The movement is a magnetic movement so instead of a little spinning ballerina, I just put a spinning hard on it. I got it at music box attic.
