I have seen video's where a person finishes the inside of boxes with shellac wax. 1 2 3 all done. it retails for 26 dollars. very steep for me to justify. Another person uses a oil/ wax mixture to accomplish the same thing.
Question: What are the ingrediants to this oil wax mixture and Shellac wax mixture??? (what type of wax stays dilluted in a liquid compound is probably mostly what I need to know )

who wants to give me some recipes. I love cooking in the woodshop. :D

Hi Kenny,

I have used Mylands Friction Polish, Shellawax, and just finished a box this morning using HUT Crystal Coat Finish. I was really impressed with the results and ease of use of the HUT. I will use it again.

I found that the Mylands tends to streak a little and that the Shellawax is a little messy. Now it is possible that I didn't "heat up" the Shellawax enough. I have become leery of micro-cracks in endgrain caused by overheating when sanding. Consequently, I may have stopped short of reaching the necessary temperature.

BTW - I used some of the Norton 3X sandpaper with and without paste wax on this box. I am REALLY impressed with this sandpaper. :D
