I heard at a club meeting last night that the new 4224B
has a spindle lock that is a little easier and hands free and will fit right on the 3520 and if you contact PM they will send you one free??? Any one else hear anything about this??

At the Symposium, Nick Cook was giving away a retrofit spindle lock that could be fitted to the locking push-button on a PM 3520A & 3520B, as well as a Jet 1642. I haven't installed mine yet, but apparently it is a simple operation. I don't know who to contact, or if they are still free for the asking - this may have been a Symposium promotion offer...??

I will be installing mine tomorrow once I get some time to get back into the shop....

Rob could you post a photo. I have seen probably 10 different spindle lock modifications for the 3520. I installed one of them but don't even use that. I remember it bothered me having to hold the button in when I first got the lathe. But in the last few years I haven't missed it at all.
