I would like to open a store posting in the gallery. Is it allowed? It it looks like it is.

Sergio......

If what you mean by a "store posting", is an intent is to make a sale, then you would likely be disappointed anyway. Those who look at the gallery photos are other turners, and a potential buyer looking there is very unlikely.

ooc

Maybe in Phase II

The AAW website redo did not include the area for AAW Members to market their turnings along with a number of other features. Perhaps that function will be restored when Phase II of the the rebuild is done. Contact the AAW web-master/mistress for more information.

Odie and Mark, what Sergio was referring to was pictures of preshaped blocks of wood for rifle stocks and pistol grips advertised for sale with the website and other text as part of the image -- all clearly a violation of image posting rules. I had already deleted the images before seeing Sergio's post, but I do appreciate bringing it to my attention. Unfortunately, the gallery doesn't have a "report" button.

Mark, my understanding is that the marketing section was a dismal failure, so redeploying it may not be on anybody's list.

Oh. In that case he should mosey on over to the WoodCentral Classified board, post his stuff, and kick in a commission to Ellis for site expenses.

To bad.

PM on the way.

Seeing as Sergio and I may have been the only ones to have seen the gallery postings before I removed them, it was obvious to me that his comment was purely in jest because the advertising was so clearly flagrant. With the gallery posting gone, I can see that Sergio's comments could be very easily misconstrued. This leads me to think that it would be better to just report gallery problems to me in a PM rather than starting a thread to talk about something that no longer exists by the time that most people discover the new thread. And, yes, I know, I am just a party pooper. :(

Rats

The Photo Monitor is too aggressive! Should have given the rest of us the chance to beat up on Sergio.

Sergio, seriously, head over to Wood Central. There are people there who will be interested in what you have to sell, just don't do the weenie thing and look for free advertising for a business. Ellis also has and runs a special service called "Wood Finder" in which you can register (not for free) and get wide exposure for your "shop."

I guess Mark did not see the ad/photos. Really interesting and funny.
Next time I will pm but I really thought that it was hilarious and would have given a shot of good humor to everybody even Mark Mandell. By the way, I do not need advertising, I'm becoming rich with my turnings but do not tell it to the a IRS please, or it will spoil everything.
