Tagua nut dyes and finishes for rings and bowls

I haven't dyed them, but do use them in resin (alumilite) to turn buttons and pendants. They turn and finish nicely. A quick google search showed several ways to dye them.
Matt, I've been trying out the Chroma Craft dyes, so far I like them. Haven't used them on Tagua nuts but I bet they would work.
My sister wanted to dye a "hair scrunchy?" (I didn't ask) purple, it is synthetic so nothing she had really worked, I sent this pic w/ some dyed nylon fibers, showing it will dye nylon, we'll see about the other... I'll let you know about "transfer"

What finish do you prefer for them after you use resin as I also filled the cracked center with black ecopoxy and that worked well to fill all voids. Thanks
I don't use a finish. I make my own polishing compounds, similar to Yorkshire grit. Then I polish with Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. I drill a small through hole in each nut prior to pouring the alumilite then rely on the pressure pot to fill any interior voids. Here is a picture of a couple that are waiting to be turned, can't find a picture of a finished one. I sell the buttons through a local quilt store and they sell as fast as I can make them.
