Teknatool in trouble in the USA

I've been able to order jaws on Amazon, but the selection seems limited. Also, Woodcraft only has about 3 jaws in stock and very little other Nova product. Packard has some and CPO tools also.

I find this all very upsetting. My first lathe was a Nova Comet ll. When the motor cut out I contacted Nova and their customer service was very helpful, they sent me a new motor for free. Any time I needed to contact them I got fast and helpful service. My current lathe is a Nova Galaxy DVR, so if I have any trouble with it will I still have the same service? Only time will tell. Also I purchased my Galaxy at a Woodcraft store. They had it in stock and we brought it home that same day. Although that was nine years ago, it may be different now. I have always been happy with the performance of my Nova lathe so I hope they can resolve the issue they're having.

I did try to purchase a nova chuck five years ago and had trouble getting it. I ordered it from one company and it ended up being back ordered for several months, so I canceled that order and went with another company. It still took a long time to get it.

Yes... I still have and use my Nova Comet II, and the infinity chuck I got around the same time. I mostly use for small stuff and pens and it still works just fine.

Which model of jaws was it?
The jaws were the smooth Pin Jaws #1 for the Infinity Chuck, But I guess should have not posted a so harsh here.... As it turns out after I explained to the seller about the listing showing 6 available they wrote back and apologized saying an error while transition to a new warehouse... They also offered me a very good discount on any future orders...

So very nice of them for their discount offer and getting back to me... With the exception of their counter person.. this is the kind of response I always received in the past... So Maybe looking better for them ?

I picked this up on another site, anybody have any further info
If there is a real issue, my first doubts are due to hitching their wagon to Woodcraft. I loved Woodcraft when I lived in Parkersburg and shopped at the mothership. You must remember that most stores are franchises and have some control over their inventory. My local store no longer carries Nova chucks for example.

Nova has moved to a direct to customer model in the US. Link is to the chucks area. Click around to find other products.

Thanks for that link, Doug. They've got some interesting new jaws. Chuck prices aren't horrible, but $90 for a mortise and tenon jig???

I’m thinking tariffs. Where are Nova accessories manufactured?

All I found was this:
Nova Teknatool International is a global manufacturing exporter since 1980, with facilities in NZ, China and the USA.

When I ordered from the US distributor I used this contact info:

Just an update,

As it turns out Sabrina was very helpful, besides offering an discount on a set of jaws of my choice they made an “archaeological discovery” of the jaws I wanted in the first place... So now I have Two Sets of Jaws on the way to me .:)
