Threads that meander

If you don’t like the people who don’t meet your requirements for accurate discussions, you can ignore them with the click of the button. Just like I just did.
Uh-oh. I'm afraid to ask.

I don't understand ! Every time I thread something it sticks to the thread pitch I started with:rolleyes:

You obviously haven't tried the new line of Demented John's Variable Pitch Thread Chasers.
The variable pitch taps and dies didn't work out so well in the woodturning test market. Kind of got me in a jam. What a bunch of whiners.

Abbot and Costello had some meandering conversations.... I am used to getting lost in conversations..... One of my favorite threads here is one started by Odie, What's on your lathe. Who knew how long it would get, but it does come back to the original title....

It's almost like a good friendly banter between friends.

LOL! No, I'm not a hero. I haven't been successful in herding cats. Only a special few can do that.

I don't think cat herders exist. I have to entice cats with treats and trick them into confinement for shots and such.

Herding llamas, goats, donkeys, horses, and some peacocks is not a problem.
Guineas, not so much. Took me two days to capture seven young guineas to take to a friend.

Cat Herding. About 15 years ago, we had two elderly cats, who had never been jumpers. A feral kitten adopted us, and decided to move in. We decided to take him to the vets. We have a 2 story colonial house, so upstairs we closed off all the doors on the landing, and I set about to catch him. As we moved from room to room on the first floor (how do they always know when it is time for the vet?), he then darted up the stairs. Aha! I have you now. I followed him up the stairs, and as my head was about even with the second floor, he had determined there was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

The next thing I knew, he had jumped over me, and down the stairs. Caught me completely off guard.

We eventually got him to the vet, and he is now an elderly cat, who is no longer a jumper.

And yes, thread meander is one of the more charming things about this community.
