Thanks for posting the video...very informative! I've used double sided tape several times, but always have been very leary of it holding even on small turnings. Thanks and safe turning to you!;)

I'm a little curious about you cutting the piece while it's still rolled up. Seems it would cut into the next piece underneath. I guess it doesn't really matter but it just seemed odd.
I myself use scissor shears.
I like the push blocks you made. I think I'll make some of those for sure. Thanks!

Slicing with a knife sometimes cuts the release paper of the next layer, but I rarely cut through the next layer of cloth. But even if I did, you are correct, it really doesn't matter, the next layer would be still ready to use.

Yes, I do have a tip!

When clamping/gluing waste blocks to roughed bowls for faceplate use, the roughed bowl and the waste block may not have perfectly parallel surfaces and the act of clamping causes the waste block to shift during the process. To prevent this shift from happening, I use three little pieces of the same double faced tape around the circumference of the glued surfaces. I prefer the glued joint, but the little pieces of double faced tape works perfectly for preventing the side slip while the glue is still wet and being clamped........:D

Some folks are asking about the brand and vendor of the tape shown in the video.

I didn't want to promote a particular brand of tape nor any vendor in the video.
The name in the cardboard core of the tape sometimes varies from what’s shown in the photos on vendors web sites.

- I generally purchase mine from WoodCraft http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2000848/3905/Double-Sided-Tape-1-x-36-Yards.aspx

- I haven’t used, but suspect that this may be the same item from Rockler http://www.rockler.com/double-sided-turners-tape

Searching for 1" x 36 yard double sided tape may yield other sources.
