Hi. I mainly turn bowls, but enjoy creating anything round and made of wood. I cut all of my own blanks from fallen trees in the woods around my house. Big storms always bring freshly fallen trees.

The picture is a spalted maple from a tree that fell in a neighbor’s yard. The video is a 22” diameter rough turn of a cherry bowl from a tree that fell in the woods a short walk from my house.

First, welcome to the forum. Lots of great folks who will share their expertise and experience. Second, the bowl is outstanding! What is the finish? Nothing like free wood!

Thank you for your kind words. Bowl finish is Walnut Oil. I almost always use it. Beautiful and easy to apply.
