I received a set of tool rests as part of a transaction and am wondering if anyone can identify them. They are a modular system with separate stem and rest. There is a clear plastic triangle on one side of the rest. See picture
I believe that was an early WoodCraft version of the hardened steel rod style rest. I cannot remember if the originals didn't have the plastic and it was added later or if it (the plastic) would fall off after using for awhile. You can see what might happen if there was no plastic when using an underhand grip and the tool slid off the left hand end of the tool rest. Definitely a pinch point or worse...
