I have a Tormek 2000 that is probably 15 years old. It has worked perfectly up until recently. Now the slightest bit of pressure makes the wheel stop. Any suggestions?

sand the rubber tire with 80 grit sandpaper for 30 seconds

Add a spring to the tension to pull the motor harder. Clean the underside of the wheel and clean the little drive roller.

Dust and 'stuff' can get on the roller, which can make it slip. The 80 grit is a good solution.

Consider replacing the drive wheel. Mine cracked as the original one was plastic. The new one is metal.

I have a Tormek Supergrind 2000 that is about 24 years old and still going strong. The rubber on the drive wheel will get hard and slick over time, but a tip from Jeff Farris who was the original US distributor is to use belt dressing periodically on the rubber. My machine is on its second or third drive wheel. If it has been a few years since you last replaced the shaft bushings then it is probably time to change those out as well. Lastly, if the drive shaft is still the Supergrind 2000 style it is very likely corroded and should be upgraded to the T-7 style.
