I admire the classic beauty of a well-turned bowl. Steve Gray's White Oak Handled Bowl is a classic beauty. The form is both functional for use but also looks stunning as a centerpiece on a countertop or table. The carved handles elevate this bowl, in particular the notched handle surface. I'll bet that this bowl feels good to hold in one's hands. Steve's bowl is one of the best examples of why we, on this forum, work with wood. It is appealing to view, feels comfortable to hold in our hands, and is useful on multiple levels.

Thank you so much, Donna. This is such a surprise and an honor! Yes, it does feel nice in the hand and the textured handle provides functional grip. I've come to appreciate the satin soft feel of tung oil especially on oak. The form came to mind after contemplating my rested oval first-turned form-- elevated handles allow for maximizing the longer axis.
