My choice for Turning of the Week for February 19, 2024 is Flower Spin Tops by Christine Smith.
Delightfully disguised as flowers these tops are arranged on an attractive natural base.
The colors are eye-catching and the painting gives the petals a three-dimensional quality.
I especially like common objects treated in unusual ways. Flower Spin Tops Is a winner.
Perhaps too pretty to play with they sure look like fun to spin.
Christine’s description:
Maple spin tops turned in one piece, hand-painted with many layers of transparent acrylic paints on top and underside. Installed a bearing ball for an extra long spinning time. The flowers are “Orange Cosmos” and “Black-eyed Susan”. Size 2 1/2” X 3”. Maple burl base for storing the tops upright.
