This week's featured turning is XOXOXO by @David Croxton. David has posted a few really nice basket illusion (BI) pieces within the last couple of weeks. XOXOXO jumped out to me for its unique pattern, its representation of summer love, and its extremely clean design and implementation. It really is mesmerizing. One thing about David is that he has sort of developed a signature BI look. They aren't quite realistic; rather, they have a Pop Art feel, partly because of the crisp and bold rim lines. This sets his work apart from many other BI makers--a good thing! Beyond the pattern, from what I can tell the form is quite nice, inside and out. I would like to see a side profile as well, but I suspect I would be pleased. In any case, great job David. Keep on inspiring!
