I have been a fan of @Guillaume Fontaine’s work for some time now. His recent works creating the illusion of rusty cans out of fig wood are simply amazing. But this piece, Méandre 2.1 is in his style that first caught my eye several years ago. The technical aspects of the form and carving are outstanding. The patterns remind me of the graffiti I would see out the subway windows when I lived in NYC many years ago. Thanks for sharing, Guillaume.

Oh cool! I like working with walnut for its color contrasts between the sapwood and the heartwood. This contrast forces me to adapt the sculpture on each piece because they are all different after turning. The drawing and then carving work draws its inspiration from the Art Nouveau style (Mucha, Majorelle), calligraphy or street art with its graffitis. Thanks to the TOTW team and thanks to Kevin Jesquels !
