My selection for the turning of the week beginning May 16, 2022, is "Spalted Myrtle Urn" by Jeff Jackson. This beautifully executed hollow form ticked all the right boxes for me when making my selection for this week's featured turning. The proportions and continuous curve without flat spots or inflection points are exceptional. The finial on the lid is also perfectly sized and proportioned to elegantly complement the pure form of the urn. In addition to all else, the coup de grâce is the beautiful spalted Myrtle wood perfectly complemented by the African Blackwood lid and finial.
